Adaptive Archeryat The Archers of Caledon

What to expect

Your first session

You do not need to bring anything or know anything. Here is what a first session looks like, and how to start.
  1. Get in touch

Contact The Archers of Caledon and mention adaptive archery. They’ll help you find a session. No equipment or experience needed.

  2. Get fitted

A coach fits a light bow and, if you need one, an adaptive rig, to how you take part.

  3. Take part

You draw, aim and release the arrow at your own pace, with a coach beside you the whole time.

  4. Come back

Come back as often as you like. Your setup is written down so it’s ready next time, and you set your own goals.

Fitted to you

However you take part

  • Blind or with low vision

An adaptive rig lets you aim by touch, and a spotter tells you where each arrow lands.

  • With a physical disability

Supported bows, seated setups, and stance aids, fitted to how you take part.

  • New to archery, or need a lighter bow

A very light bow and one-on-one coaching, starting from the very beginning. It suits beginners, and archers with a cognitive disability or limited strength.

Not sure what you need? That is fine. A coach works it out with you on the day, and adjusts as you go.
